Our webcam provides 1280*720px images and it would be nice to have a simple view for just viewing the current state in a bigger size than what octoprint normally shows. As for implementation, maybe the view could open as a new window, when the user clicks on the webcam stream.

It looks like your webcam has a sensor resolution of 1280x960 (also 4:3) so changing the resolution in octoprint will not increase the FOV since the aspect ratios are the same. The only way to increase the FOV would be to add some kind of fisheye lens to the camera, or increase the distance between your bed and the camera.
